Black Grass

Black Grass, from Brighton, were DJ/producer Mex (born Ian Thompson) and fellow producer Carl Faur.
Before they split Mex' ear for hip-hop breaks, extracting from Latin, soul, jazz, house, and funk records, formed the backbone of the duo's sound while Faure injected elements of the U.K.'s dance subculture with his experience in producing drum'n'bass and jazz-house.
Three releases:  Don't leave me this way, A hundred days in One, Three [Inertia/Catskills/Catskills]

Tracks, remixes and downloads at soundcloud,  snippets of the albums at allmusic.com
