Seu Jorge

Seu Jorge, born Jorge Mário da Silva - in what is now known as the city of Belford Roxo, a favela of the city of Rio de Janeiro - is a highly acclaimed brasilian musician, poet and also a film actor (i.a. City of God).
His albums  have been described as "how powerful Brazilian soul music can be", the album „Samba Esporte Fino“ from 1999 was critically acclaimed as the best brasilian album of the year; in 2010 he performed with Thievery Corporation at the Austin City Limits - more infos at his homepage
